Mosuo woman sees the boat off

Lake Lugu is supposedly inhabited by the Mosuo people who still maintain a matrilineal society and can be described as a matriarchy. In point of fact I saw most Mosuo up in the mountains on the way to Lugu where they continue to engage in agriculture and eschew the salacious brand of tourism that's engendered when Chinese males are sold the concept of 'visiting marriage'.
However a few still live in or near the Han tourist settlements of the east lakeside, and this woman was one of them. The man may well have been another but most Mosuo men do not dress identifiably.
