Nighttime travelling, hard sleeper class

Hard sleeper travel means sleeping 3 up on narrow hard bunks with even narrower corridors. The night trains are particularly packed because it saves on a night's accommodation. It's such fun and you generally get a very comfortable night's sleep.

This is my view from a top bunk on the very popular Lijiang route. The enormous feet belong to Patrick is the next bunk along. They tend to appal sensitive Chinese toddlers.
