Hakon is home!

My friends Cecilia and Risen live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Eighteen months ago, they found a young stray labrador mixed breed dog near their home, very friendly and gentle. They gave him his forever home and fell in love with him instantly. They named him Hakon. He is on the left of this photograph.

On 1st August, Hakon was last seen frantically trying to cross one of KL's busy roads in Section 8, Petaling Jaya. By the time my friend got to the spot in which she saw him last, he was gone. Some neighbours had tried to call him in, but he was anxious and frightened. Seven long days of anxious searching for Hakon, posting on the internet, posting leaflets and flyers and telephoning lost dog's societies came to nothing. This morning, a miracle occurred and Hakon was found in Section 51 of Petaling Jaya, KL. He was wandering in a large waste land near the factories and next to a small Hindu temple. Luckily the samyar (priest) had already offered him some food and water. Cecilia and Risen were lead to him by the security guard and experienced the joy of being reunited with him.

During the search for Hakon, they were lead to this small mixed labrador black dog, also with a red collar, in the hope that it was Hakon. She had been picked up in Section 5 of the city. She was so gentle and loving that they arranged for her to be fostered by Cecilia's parents until her owners are traced. Hakon met this little friend this morning and they played happily together. Here's hoping her owners are found, though she will be kept safe and happy until such a time.

This is Hakon on the left with his new and precious friend on the right.

What a lovely photograph to receive today, taken this morning by Cecilia in Kuala Lumpur; made me smile all day.

Happy Sunday to all.
