Atrium Health Centre with half-moon

When this building was being put up a few years ago all my friends and family members were disgusted and appalled that such a monstrosity could be built next to the splendid Victorian brewery buildings. But now it is finished we all seem to quite like it. The art deco lettering and the blue neon lights help.

It's a dilemma for an old town - do you build everything in an old-fashioned style to match what is there, or do you go modern, which could look out of place? The dilemma is not new, and in any other age there would have been no hesitation.
