Mrs Hummer is Hungry

As you know, I am fascinated and pretty much head-over-heels with the hummingbirds. We have a whole swarm of them with us this summer and their antics are endless fun. As they start fattening up for their fall migration, the competition for the feeders intensifies. We have 9 or 10 feeders and they are all being guarded with much vigor.

This little female has spent much of the day perched above "her" feeder and occasionally she sticks her long tongue out, as if getting herself all primed for the next sip of nectar. Not a perfect image, but my hubs said that this is the pick from today's batch.
