Agapanthus in the mizzle

Today we have had mostly mizzle - mist and drizzle, general greyness and fierce humidity - horrible.
I was back at the Alice West museum today - in charge of the coffee shop - possibly promotion! Much quieter here than yesterday and mostly serving hardy walkers with scones and tea. The house is set in the mos incredible spot looking out to the sea and in a great position for weather watching - swathes of mist kept on billowing by from the west with brief clear periods when you could see across to the Mizen peninsula. The other interest today (way too much time on my hands) was the cattle!! A herd is now installed in the field below complete with massive bull with a ring through his nose. He spent most of the morning asleep. Today's view is more or less this one - a different season!

Alice West, as well as being an artist and Irishophile, was obviously a very well read woman. There is a huge collection of books, some of them in rather sorry condition, but some which I suspect are quite valuable. I'm now cataloguing them in the quiet moments - interesting and whiles away the time very pleasantly.

We may or may not be putting up a Hungarian couple tonight! It's a long story but their daughter is doing a spot of work experience at the Heron Gallery and they are bringing her down from somewhere - Sligo I think rather than Hungary. Could be interesting.
