Winter in Summer

It's August FMFS*

The post-summer-break-return-to-work blues are bad enough but when it's rubbed all wet and cold in your face like it has been this week it doesn't help with the transition.

To be fair, it's not been too bad and, truth be told, there was some interesting staff development sessions today. Spent a very quick hour and a half on copyright and intellectual property with a very knowledgeable chap this morning Honest, it was interesting (for the two of us that turned up anyhow). Also learned that, according to someone in authority that knows about this sort of thing, it's not now PC to use the word 'ladies' when addressing a group of female human beings. A bit puzzling that one, but it was up there in RGB on screen on a Powerpoint slide so it must be true.

The day just flew in after all that.

As I was passing nearby on the road home I popped back to see how last night's trapped coos were doing. The river's still flooded but receding and the big coo's still trapped but there's no sign of e the two calves. I'm hoping the farmer came along and rescued them.

Off to kill some more brain cells off now. Happy weekend all.

* For Michael Fish Sake.
