Doing Things Differently

Spoonie over the Staithe

Holiday Back-blip.

Our favourite walk when in North Norfolk is from Burnham Overy Staithe to Gun Hill. It changes every time we do it, depending on the height of the tide.

Today the tide was just on the flood, so walking out we had fields on our right and marsh on our left. As you can see, the sky was perfectly blue and the spoonbills flying over, from the Holkham roost to feed on the mudflats of Titchwell and Thornham, stood out starkly.

It was too windy to eat our lunch on top of Gun Hill, but we did get a good perch on one of the floating hides.

When we walked back, the tide was coming in, so the marsh had been transformed into a seies of creeks, with families playing in the water.
