Monkey boy

Our first full day with T's sister in Norfolk, where the kids have been staying for a few weeks. We're visiting for a few days before heading home to Belgium with the kids.

On an outing to Go Ape in Thetford Forest, our 13-year-old son C proved utterly fearless in the trees. He was completely relaxed and in his element whizzing around the treetops on wires and pulleys.

The afternoon was organised by my sister-in-law as a surprise late birthday treat for my husband who is known for his fear of heights - proof that big sisters can be loving and cruel even when they're all grown-up. Despite himself, and because of all the safety measures in place, T had a wonderful time.
