Electrofishing

Today I went electrofishing with Eden River's Trust. Basically you walk through a stream with a car battery on your back, a wire halo (the anode) in front of you, and a long copper tail behind (the cathode). The fish are attracted to the anode, swim towards it, then the current stuns them, so you can easily catch them with a net. Then you measure all their lengths on a board like above. The poor blighter looks like a fish out of water....
