Run!

We've had a lovely Saturday. Packed and lovely. We started out meeting Cousin2 and taking her for her birthday treat. She chose to go do one of the big sweet cup pick'n'mix at tescos and then come to the play cafe. After we'd jammed a large cup with a large quantity of sweets, we went for a play. They had a great time with the other little boy and girl who were in there. It was amusing watching them trying to teach Katie how to play hide and seek. Katie loves to copy and try to fit in, so something where different people are meant to do different things was confusing her!

We dropped Cousin off and headed to the swimming pool. She was so ready for her lesson. She always enjoys it, although sometimes the activities are a little old for her, so she likes to do her own thing. Today though, she did every single one. She did her humpty dumptys standing up like the big kids. She had the twist entries sussed (but it is exactly how she's learnt to climb off beds, steps, down slides). When we went on to swimming under water through hoops, she was laughing, doing her superman arms and going straight under & through. She did crocodiles along the steps. The only activity she didnt totally do as asked was when they were meant to be sat on the steps kicking. Instead she kicked off and swam away. Several times. Her teacher said "well why bother kick when you can do that". Katie laughed at her teacher as she demonstrated how they should and shouldnt kick. But she wore herself out - as soon as the lesson was over she wanted out and didnt even stick around in the shower long!

There was a fun day outside the pool, so she got a big helium balloon, watched a display of eagles (she loved those!) and ran excitedly between all the bouncy castles - but didnt want to go on them! She was asleep within about two minutes of getting in the car.

We got home and I put her in bed, not long before her little friends James and Emma arrived to play with us for the afternoon. When she got out of bed, we all walked round to the park. She was very excited, walked the whole way there and back, and ran round like a crazy thing in between! They've been back to ours for a bit of a play and their parents came for a cuppa. A great day!
