The Pier

Colwyn Bay has a pier. But like many piers it is unusable. I'm not sure how popular it would have been anyway. It seems that the buildings part was at the land end and then just a pier walk out to sea. Most piers have building at the far end, or perhaps halfway. Maybe the allure was for sea fishing as can be measured still by the number of anglers who line the seafront. Mackerel, Plaice and Bass are the catches of the day.

Now it is deserted, probably structurally unsafe, and destined to fall into the sea at some point. For the time being it is a metalwork memorial to days gone by.
