The scene of the incident

Remember the traffic incident that took place on August 6th and I described in my blip for August 7th? Well, this is the scene where it all took place! We were leaving the parking lot and taking a left turn. Where there is a scooter parked in this shot, a police car was parked an blocking our view on August 6th. When we pulled up to see if there was any traffic coming from the left, a man on a scooter coming from that direction got scared, braked and fell...

Today we were leaving so we had to go back to Livorno. I drove the car onto the train and then we had to wait a couple of hours before the train departed.

This time there were no problems with people jumping in front of trains, but there was a problem at night when the train's engine failed. We had just converted the seats into beds and the girls were trying to sleep when we stopped for quite a long time. It was still very hot outside and without air-conditioning it was soon very hot in the train too. Once the problem was sorted we continued our trip and the girls finally went to sleep just before midnight...
