Time to clean out the bird feeder

Trip to Costco at lunchtime meant no walk or photo opportunities. Skeleton staff in the office today as everyone seems to be on holiday - still lots of work to do though.

Grey skies by the time I got home. Not much going on in the garden insect-wise. Lots of spiders around and a few bees on the thistles and scabious plants.

I have a some bird feeders in the garden. This is the seed from the niger feeder for goldfinches. It has been so wet, some of it seems to be sprouting and there's some fungi growing in it too. I like the pale strands of the fungus and the little pin head tops. Time to clean out the feeder I think.
