Statue Burford Church

A visit to Burford today. It's a pretty little town spoilt and as is usual spoilt by the excess of cars and traffic. A victim of its own success.
The church of St. John the Baptist, is wonderful, with cathedral-like proportions.
It was built from around 1175 and is described in Simon Jenkins' book "England's Thousand Best Churches" as the "queen of Oxfordshire, a paragon and museum of the English Parish Church".
It is overflowing with beautiful artefacts and fascinating stories of history.
I'm not sure who this sculpture is of, what it signifies or even who the artist is but I love it.
