Paparazzo

We went to the launch of Freddie and and the Fairy by Julia Donaldson in audio and Braille formats at the Edinburgh Book Festival, hosted by RNIB Scotland.

Loads of press turned up, so this is some of them getting shots of the author with Rhys and the Gruffalo. Alexander was nearly in the pictures too but I didn't think he should, as he's neither blind nor partially sighted; we were there because Daddy was in charge (sort of). The lady in blue is Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs in the Scottish Government. The Lord Provost of Edinburgh was there too - I particularly liked it when his wife gave him her empty glass and told him to put it on the table.

Unfortunately we missed the whole of the author's reading of the book, due to Alexander screeching his head off as soon as Ms Hyslop started speaking. Sadly, I must have taught him too well.

Nevertheless, Alexander did get his favourite copy of Fox's Socks signed before we left in disgrace.
