The USS Carr visiting Leith; named after Paul H. Carr, Gunner's Mate Third Class who postumously received the Silver Star for his conduct aboard USS Samuel B. Roberts during an engagement of Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944, his gun aboard that ship fired 324 rounds in 35 minutes against the Japanese fleet - he was found at his station dying, with the last round in his hand.
