horns of wilmington's cow

Feelin' Blue?

Could have been a nice shot of a still DuddingstonLoch on the walk into work this morning; or a work colleague I sit beside acting the goat... But there's a reason you get Charlie here. You see tomorrow he's leaving us... And it's strange how we get attached to inanimate objects.

If you read this journal regularly at all you'll know I love cycling, and am living proof that that's not incompatible with loving cars. See cars are not the problem, it's the way they're used that are. First blipped on 11th March 2009 this was a step up from Camp Freddie, a red Mini One that had taken us to Italy on the Italian Job charity rally. Charlie has a bit more grunt, and has had a couple of trips to France, as well as Skye and Harris and Lewis. But tomorrow we pick up a replacement, which means there will likely be two car blips in a row.

What will be moving in instead? You'll just have to wait and see.

But ah. The joy of a three day weekend as a bank holiday Monday, that Mel doesn't get, means I've got an excuse for a big ride... If the weather holds out... And at the moment that's looking like a big if. But if that if becomes a tiny if then a 90 mile Borders hilly loop is in the offing. If the if remains a big if then I'll likely drive the mountain bike to Glentress for a bit of a fun spin instead. In truth I'm hoping for the little if (partly because it simply means riding out from the house). But we'll see.

For the minute all I'm worried about is relaxing, which has started tonight. We were going to be going out to Rich Hall, but Mel is still loaded with the lurgy (mine, thankfully, appears to be abating) so a night in was in order instead.
