An ordinary life....

Lazy Sunday

Oh I love Sunday's like this, when a decision is made early on that instead of rushing around getting things done before the weekend is over, it's going to be a day of relaxation instead.

We all had a lie in. D gave in first and got up about 10am. He got Alan up and I lay in bed and flicked through a magazine and commented on some blips till I got up at 10.30. Leisurely shower then Alan got picked up just after 12 as he's spending the day with S & A.

Thanks to seeing a blip journal entry (can't find it now to link :-( ) featuring hot buttered toast and poached eggs, we had that for Brunch

Rest of the afternoon has been spent doing one of my favourite things....sitting with feet up, snuggled on the sofa in the conservatory listening to D playing the piano. He's no Liberace (thank God! LOL!) but he can rattle out a good tune and I love to sing along! Thank heavens we live in a detached house otherwise I fear our neighbours would not be happy bunnies! :)))

The piano was David's mums and is now 71 years old. It gets tuned twice a year but due to age and a multitude of house moves in its lifetime, it's always a semitone off! LOL! The only time it gets played the way it was meant to is when the piano tuner is finshed tuning and spends about 15 minutes playing it and showing off his skills.

But I love D's style of playing, including the pauses whilst he turns the page of the music book and the odd bum note that renders us helpless with laughter. When Alan was little he used to look at his Dad with awe and sheer delight as he belted out the theme tunes from Teletubbies and Postman Pat. Infact a quick burst of Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Lala, Po usually concludes his session at the piano and always makes us laugh.

D has now headed off to the golf range and I have got myself a coffee, a slice of carrot cake (diet starts tomorrow....you have been warned!!) and will spend a little while catching up with blips and my book.

For anyone who's interested, the song being played when I snapped Les Dawson David in full flow was THIS classic from the musical genius that is Kate Bush.

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday and thank you so much for your wonderfully kind and moving comments on yesterday's blip xxxx
