No Blizzards!

Still no electricity in most of Connecticut, the electric company is reporting over 750,000 customers without power still.

We tried to use a backhoe to pull our apple tree up this morning, but haven't been able to. Stacking up branches and limbs has started, in an effort to clean up the yard. We've lost our food in the refrigerator & freezer, and can't shower and have limited flushing abilities with the toilet.

Thankfully, my mom has a generator so we headed down there this morning. Driving 60 miles was worth it!! We're clean, fed, and refreshed. While there, we watched the news...so much devastation. My heart goes out to those affected, the flooding in Vermont is just heartbreaking.

On the way home, we took some back roads...no traffic lights worked, but everyone would stop to let someone get through the intersection. Stores, restaurants, and almost every gas station unable to open. One gas station that did have power had police directing traffic, making one lane of the road a 'line' to get gas....almost 30 cars waiting.

This DQ (Dairy Queen) is an ice cream shop for those that don't know of it. They sell a ice cream/candy treat called a 'Blizzard' hence the sign on the plywood boarding it up.

Hope to get caught up with everyone soon, there is basically no internet service or phone service available.
