Shrewsbury Folk Festival #2

So, today we had a full day of folk and folkies. You'll be pleased to know that we resisted the urge to buy any festival trousers, hats, jumpers, scarves, gloves or other unnecessary accoutrements that would only ever be worn at a festival.

This photo of the food-buying and eating area was taken after seeing the fantastic Show of Hands in the main marquee on our way to the saturday night Ceilidh where the dance band was Glorystrokes, described in the programme as "possibly the world's only traditional English metalcore dance band" - they were effectively a heavy metal band playing folk music, and they were flimming great - the dance floor was literally jumping.

Other highlights today were Brooks Williams, Steamchicken and Spiers and Boden. There really is so much great music to absorb - it's very happy-making.
