Racing balers

N was driven up to Bristol by hospital car which belonged to a white-haired mad driver who had just finished milking cows some miles away before arriving at the door. She drove like a bat out of hell across country to avoid the lorries and poor man he was ill! They came back five hours later via the motorway much to N's relief!

Meanwhile Tim is working like crazy during the warm dry weather trying to finish the wheat harvest. A mate from Cornwall is giving a helping hand to round-bale some of the straw while these two agricultural contractors were racing each other square-baling! They were driving at quite a speed.

After making picnic lunches for the boys, I managed to meet an old friend in Sherborne for lunch who is over from Australia for a brief visit. It was lovely to catch up while indulging in tasty morsels (the edible kind!). F and I first met at college and then shared a flat in London and later travelled to South Africa together where we worked and travelled for eighteen months - many years ago!

Two hungry boys eventually appeared at 10 o'clock for their supper after a satisfying day's work.
