Sunset

A busy busy day. Rushed out to the supermarket this morning to replenish our basic food. The afternoon found N and I driving on a mission for T to the hydraulics centre in town with some pipes that needed lengthening by a metre. They belonged to the JCB and he couldn't fit certain bits of machinery as they were to enable the square bales to be stacked. The round bales can be left out with their netting wrappers. The rush was about the rain that is forecast for tomorrow by which time we want all the wheat harvested and all the straw safely baled!

Two tired boys and K (T's girlfriend) eventually showed up just before midnight for their evening meal. Luckily I had made a beef casserole and baked potatoes which kept in the warming oven of the AGA. N and I had turned in a couple of hours before. T had finished combining, the grain was overflowing out of the barns so they had to steep it up to try and prevent it from getting wet. Lorries won't appear before next week to take it away. Tomorrow is a race to get the baling done with the help of contractors again. The rain is supposed to appear at about teatime.

Sunset view from our entrance taking in our neighbours trees at the bottom of their garden.
