Here's One I finished Yesterday

With two good sunny days in a row, I am left wondering what we people in the Lothians have done to deserve such bounty.
It's almost as if the weather system has decided to reward us for having sent the Festival visitors packing.

Last night was perfect for the celebratory castle fireworks party; balmy with no wind.

His Lordship and I stood in the midst of a huge throng of people at the top of the Mound listening to the music relayed through a public spirited person's radio hanging on the railings, and oohing and aahing like everyone else as the fireworks exploded in a rain of colours high in the sky above us, while at other quieter times red smoke billowed up from the castle from behind, defining the ramparts, and then a dazzling white waterfall of fire would cascade down the rock. Everything was accurately synchronised with the music in the gardens below.

As we turned to leave, the first drops of rain fell, lightly enough for us to get home dry. That was even better timing.

The sun and warmth this morning meant a coffee outside with a cycling friend beckoned. She is off to Shetland and Fairisle this weekend with her van and bike. I wished her well on the hills, although she is more worried about making the 12 hour crossing of the Pentland Firth and the North Sea with possible Equinoxial gale force winds.

My blip today is of a jersey finished yesterday for the youngest grandchild and posted in mitigation for representing the knitting /sewing group but not having many projects which qualify for entry.
