how it is

Autumn fruit

The hedges are groaning with blackberries, and as a passer-by commented when I was picking these, I don't have to go far to find some; they're right in front of my house. The bramley apples are also local; several people are selling them by the bag from stalls in front of their houses. These were £1 a bag. I noticed that someone else is selling damsons. Will go and buy some soon. I made damson jam last year but over-boiled it, so the jam was almost solid when it set. This year, I will do better.
