Discovery

One of my favourite photographs ever, if not my absolute favourite the Endurance stuck in pack ice at night, lit up by what the plates in South refer to as merely "flash" but according to an exhibition of the expedition photographs (taken by Frank Hurley) needed several lights rigged up around the ship to get the ghostly effect.

This is the Discovery in a special dock on a mild night lit by streetlights in Dundee. Not really quite the same effect or the same level of difficulty but in the absence of some pack ice and extreme peril it will have to do.
