Farnes

Weekend away with my folks who are on holiday in Northumberland for a fortnight and have rented a house big enough for all of us. So, this weekend and next the photos may be a little different to usual, certainly less urban and the skies may be bigger than normal.

Seahouses has great fish and chips, an amusement arcade and the usual seaside paraphernalia, little of which seems to have changed since the 1970s, although when I used to go there as a kid I'm sure there weren't any Indian or Chinese eating establishments, of which at least one is earmared for future visits.

There's also a harbour with boat trips running over to the Farne Islands, a few burger vans and plenty of interesting blip potential - baskets, creels, ladders, ropes, pulleys, concrete walls, jetties, lifebelts, rusted metal and the like. Very appealing.

Full moon and a sky full of stars. Sat outside with a beer and looked upwards for shooting stars. Joanna Newsom is pretty knowledgable on the subject.

"That the meteorite is a source of the light
And the meteor's just what we see
And the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee

And the meteorite's just what causes the light
And the meteor's how it's perceived
And the meteoroid's a bone thrown from the void that lies quiet in offering to thee"

So now you know.
