Country roads

Today we visited Mud Bog. One of my favorite places to nerd out on ecology.

Imagine a squishy half aquatic world of mosses and carnivorous pitcher plants, dragonflys, cattails, and of course, the undulating surface of the bog. Like walking on a waterbed - floating on a muddy cloud...

I picked labrador tea on the way back to the van slapping at hordes of mosquitos before slamming the doors shut. It never felt so good to feel the breeze washing me clean through rolled down windows bumping along country roads....
