Firenze by night

took the train from Venice to Florence today. another wonderful city.

lots and lots of walking around hot and sunny Florence. what a tourist trap this place is, but with good reason! larger in scale than Venice and strange to be back in the land of wheeled vehicles, but such a beautiful place.

climbed the bell tower of the Duomo and took some fab pano views in of the surrounding city and countryside. however, the highlight was watching the sun set over Tuscany and the city.

no fancy camera equipment, nor a tripod - so it's amazing how the Lonely Planet guide to Italy can double as a stable surface on an uneven pavement. gave this 'long' exposure ago while lying on the ground, amidst folk with all the gear. not a bad result i reckon - it at least gives you an impression of the city by night.

such a wonderful evening.

as with my last two venice blips, having to backblip this one...
