Barges on the Ohio river

I took this as we were coming in to land at Cincinnati airport, returning from our trip up to the province of Quebec - a few days in Quebec City, a couple of days in Bromont, (in the eastern cantons, about an hour east of Montreal), where Roger was conducting some business, and finally a few days in Montreal. We were flying back from Burlington, Vermont - much cheaper than flying direct to Montreal - via Chicago. Chicago weather was very gloomy and wet. Cincinnati, as you can see from the photograph, was also gloomy, but dry - we're supposed to get rain tomorrow! Whenever I'm down by the Ohio river, I keep hoping one of the big barges will come by, but they never do, then here there were three together in the same shot! If you look carefully you will see one is actually 12 barges fastened together, another is 16, all pushed by one tug boat! It must be quite a job maneuvering them through all the bridges in Cincinnati!
