Tour Eiffel

Up early, nice breakfast then out on our way.

This is the 6th time my sis and I have been to Paris so we decided to do a lot more wandering and less running frantically from attraction to attraction this time. With the temeprature being in the 80's I think this was a good plan!

Over to Place de la Concorde then walked through to the Champs Elysees and all the way up to Laduree where my sister got some of their world famous macaroons. Stopped for a quick look at the Arc de Triomphe, then hopped on the Metro to Trocadero. We then walked down through the Champ de Mars, then back over to a new museum Musee du Quai Branly . It was an interesting museum full of non Western art and artefacts, got a bit samey after a while though so we headed for the lovely cafe to get some lunch.
Fed and watered we headed onto the Metro again where we came across this guy we were behind him so didn't see the whole show but it was probably more interesting watching the guy do his stuff from behind. Very clever - stuff like this is why I love the Metro so much!

Up to Sacre Coeur and Place du Tertre but it was far too busy so we didn't stay long. More walking down from there all the way back to the hotel, with a few stops for a rest in the sun.

At night we went out to Chartier
a brilliant Parisienne institution where we had a great dinner - I had steak tartare for the first time and it was amazing! A fantastic restaurant with a brilliant atmosphere I recommend it, but go early - the queues were huge when we left!

Drinks & people watching at a cafe near Notre Dame then we walked all the way back to the hotel again. A great day.
