The Goonies Rock!

Today Rusty took us to the small town of Astoria, setting for one of the greatest childrens movies of all time - The Goonies.
Pretty much anyone of my generation who grew up loving movies holds a special place in their heart for The Goonies, and so will appreciate the awesomeness of todays trip.

We visited the house lived in by the main character, Mikey, followed by a twenty mile drive down the coast to the rocks where the boys begin to unravel the pirate treasures whereabouts (incidentally, that twenty miles is covered by the kids in the movie in minutes on their bikes)

As the areas signature rainfall became too much to bear, we made for a seafront restaurant overlooking the rocks, warming ourselves up with bowls of clam chowder and seafood sandwiches.
Like in much of the movie, the weather was terrible. The day however, was unforgettable.

The rocks even seem to have made their way onto the cover of the recent blu-ray release.
And of course no Goonies blip would be complete without Chunk's famous truffle shuffle, which is part of the main scene incorporating the house.
