Rust

We had a talk and slide show presented by Erica Oram at the photography club yesterday evening which I both enjoyed and found rather liberating. I found it very refreshing, from amidst camera club orthodoxy, to find someone who knows where her passions lie and what she wants to communicate. One of her passions is to look for small detail within the bigger picture, so we were treated to less than conventional views of buildings and workshops and rust and grease and cogs! her night time shots were brilliant too. She's clearly travelled quite widely, to international conferences for work, as well as to South East Asia for holidays. She doesn't appear to have her own website, but she is widely supportive of camera clubs in Yorkshire, both as a speaker and as a judge.

Today, at the studio, Jude brought a book of photographs from an, until recently, unknown Victorian photographer called Charles Jones. The black and white photographs of vegetables, fruit and some flowers are stunning. he doesn't have a website as such but you can see some of his photographs here. There is also the book of his work called, `The Plant Kingdoms of Charles Jones'.
