Hunting fashion

This was at 6am this morning at Dingli Point, properly known as Ta'zuta (try it on google earth) I got some footage of a purple heron coming in and some hunters putting quail in cages as lures (this, believe it or not, is legal).

Within 10 minutes of us being on site and setting up we were surround on all sides by these guys, maybe 15 in total. We heard lots of gunfire, but there were very few birds around. I guess they're firing at quail or just to annoy us.

This evening was spent at Nadur Tower, 14 Honey Buzzards, 6 Marsh Harriers, 5 Kestrel and 3 Hobbys came through. The last bird we counted was a Hobby catching and eating bats on the wing - awesome bird.

The wind as finally died off, we'll see what tomorrow brings.
