Hopping around!

Don't mind if I do....

We had a great walk today, in surprisingly hot weather. We did a route from one of our 'Pub Walks' books, at Little Thurlow, in Suffolk. According to the dates in the book we last did this walk in 2002. Mr H and I can hardly believe that the time has gone past so quickly.

On the way round we saw an old overgrown bench. We walked through a farm and some stables and one of the horses had a hood on which completely enclosed his ears and most of his head. It had fringes over his eyes. Maybe, it was to keep out flies or maybe he wasn't well.

We saw someone else who was clearly unwell, so unwell as to be dead. He had batted his last, the dead bat had. We saw the poor wee thing in a church porch. A very old church porch with nooks and crannies that a bat might quite like.

We stopped for refreshments at 'The Cock', the named pub from the book. And then, as we got back to the car, we spotted the free apples. We helped ourselves........Lovely.
