harvest festival

This morning we took our biscuits, beans, and custard powder along to the harvest festival at church. I love Harvest festival, I love the old traditions that go with it, and the hymns that are song to celebrate it. I love that the smallest members of the congregation take such pride in bringing a packet of jelly or a homegrown marrow up to altar. The gifts will be given to the local mother and baby refuge.

After the service, we had a harvest meal. The church catering ladies had made a lovely lunch, which was delicious. We sat outside in the sunshine, and chatted while the children played. Miss Pink decided she wanted custard with her pudding. This is her enjoying her harvest feast!
