will it go round in...

An enduring affair

When I first came to London in 1973, I was earning £15 a week as a trainee quantity surveyor and my rent (for sharing a room) was £10 a week. I didn't drink, I didn't go out, I didn't even buy records (ancient form of mp3).

Every couple of weeks though, I would buy a crusty loaf and a camembert.

For my figure's sake, I cannot do it that frequently any more. However it is still a deep and enduring love.
