Thorn Apple Seed Pod

Missed Opportunities.

First thing this morning there was a Wren in the bushes near the feeders; it was too dark to take a picture. Later in the morning, there was a Reeves Muntjack in the garden; it was frightened off by Dougal the cat, who stalked purposefully towards it. Then a little later there was a Fallow Deer fawn; Splodge the cat walked towards it and it ran back into the undergrowth.

So what do you get today?

A Thorn Apple seed pod, which has opened to show the black seeds inside; a sure sign of autumn. This grows every year in one of our patio pots and I think originally it came from some bird seed. It is very poisonous.

Today started with a lot of mist but as soon as this had burnt off it was a glorious summer's day.
