Gateshead Millennium Bridge

This is one Millennium project that I think was worth the money (22 million... no wonder its nickname is the Winking or Blinking Eye Bridge... eye watering might be a better name... but that apart it is the only Tilting bridge in the world, it tilts through 40 degrees to allow ships up to 85ft through. and if there are no ships, the tilt it just for the hell of it for the tourists.
