Crocus tournefortii

Crocus are not just for Spring!

This one, raised from seed, comes from islands off the coast of Greece. Named after 17th century botanist and explorer J.P. de Tournefort it is easy to grow in a warm, sunny spot in UK gardens.

This is one of my favourites, beautifully coloured and with a dramatic orange style.
