My neighbours' surprise visitor for breakfast!

Excitement this morning - our next door neighbour Peter called Chris in to see a visitor at the bottom of the garden.

A sparrow hawk breakfasting on an unfortunate pigeon.

We have never seen a bird of prey in the gardens before so we were most impressed and took this photo from the upstairs window. He was very alert and was aware of the sound of the camera but was determined to finish his meal.
