The Girl Who Makes Dragon's Beard Candy

On our drive to Montreal on Friday, we listened to an audio book about a character named Alvin Ho. At one point he described dragon's beard candy. None of us had ever heard of it.

Flash forward to today. We were on one of those double-decker bus tours that I'm always a sucker for when the tour guide mentioned "Montreal's famous dragon's beard candy." We all made up our minds right then and there to find this stuff and taste it.

In the evening we made our way to Chinatown and finally found this store front where a girl stands and makes dragon's beard candy. It's strands of sugar wrapped around a mixture of peanuts, sesame seeds and coconut, and it was divine.

This one really is much better when seen in LARGE, IMO.

Other activities during the day included a visit to the Olympic Park and Stadium and a ride up the funicular to view all of Montreal. We feel like we've packed a lot in the past two days and got to see much of Montreal. And once again, our little girl was such a trooper. Not one complaint about all the walking!
