Bardolino Wine Festival

Left the car behind today, the reason is not hard to imagine. We took the boat from Sirmione to Bardolino where we spent the afternoon at the wine festival.

A wine glass and pouch came with the first wine tasting, and thereafter at a cost of one Euro the glass was refilled at the various vineyard kiosks. Fortunately as well as wine there was also food available. The festival extended for some distance along the shore on either side of the town.

I tried Chiaretto, which is a rose version of Bardolino. Something I have not seen before, but in the main I stuck to the traditional red variety.

After a pleasant afternoon we returned to Sirmione in a remarkably sober state having only had three glasses of wine.
