Flying Start

Monday started well. Didn't mind all that rain battering down outside.

Car dropped off at the garage for a service, 'Flying Start' breakfast in a deserted supermarket café followed by grocery shopping (by the way, there's a different species of shopper that seems to wander the aisles on a wet Monday morning than does on a Saturday; pyjamas and fluffy slippers... what's that all about?).

A quick visit to the equally deserted barber's for a trim and to fix one of the hairdresser's new iPhones that her daughter had managed to lock into accessibility mode meaning the Siri chap was giving a permanent running commentary that was doing her nut in.

Home by 10:30am to wake up the kids, with the rain battering down starting to irritate just that wee bit as it looked like a day indoors was on the cards. Tried catching up with some episodes of The Story of Film: An Odyssey but the internet kept dropping. Don't think that was the rain's fault, but it's getting the blame and it was really starting to piss me off with its persistent pissing downedness.

It's now just after 3pm, it's nearly dark outside and the forecast is for snow later tonight on the hills with temperatures to drop later in the week. Just perfect for our planned motorbike tour.
