Spent the afternoon at the Norfolk & Suffolk Aviation Museum, in Flixton, Suffolk. It's a museum dedicated to flying in general, but with particular links to the second world war when this area was flooded with airbases. The actual base at Flixton was about two miles from the museum site; very little remains.

This fuel gauge is from Hawker Hurricane IIc, LF363, which was part of the Battle of Britain memorial flight until it burnt out after a forced landing in 1991.

That aside, girl openly admits it's one of her favourite days out, because in the corner of a hanger is a cafe which sells cake. Big slabs of home-made cake. She also likes handling the exhibits & climbing in the planes, but Cake!
