More shades of autumn

Drove down to Hertfordshire today to visit my friend C. We've been friends since our schooldays in the Fifties and Sixties and didn't see each other for thirty years, then about ten years ago we just picked up where we'd left off all that long time ago.

C lives in a village surrounded by lovely countryside and on our walk this afternoon, in beautiful weather, we came across these brilliant crab apples. After consulting the web, I think they could be the variety 'Red Sentinel' - anyway, they stopped us in our tracks.
