Tired.

Last night was not entirely the welcome back to Scotland I was hoping for. Mr B's folks were very hospitable, filling us with soup, pasta, wine and chat before waving us on our way to Fife.

No-one apart from the estate agent has been in our house since Mr B was last there, so we don't really know how long the water inlet pipe on the loo upstairs had been emitting a spray of water. Long enough though. The bathroom was flooded, the bathroom below will need ceiling and walls redone, and the radiator fitted back on the wall. The kids' playroom ceiling and walls are ruined, and one of the walls in the living room. I dread to think how many hours work it will take to fix it, but I do know that this is a rubbish time for Mr B's attention to be taken away from our new house. Not a pleasant welcome home surprise.

So my evening was not spent sleeping, as had been planned, but mopping and cleaning and poking holes in the ceiling to drain the remaining water.

By the time bed did finally beckon, it was freezing cold and a howling gale so sleep was a long time in coming.

This morning (yes, I'm finally onto today) was all about getting to my study appointment, and getting through that as quickly as possible. All done quickly, but not with enough notice to arrange a mini blipmeet. Next time.

I did intend to blip the incongruity of the outdoor smoking shelter being right next to the emergency asthma parking space, but too much chatting with K as we left meant I forgot. Still, I haven't blipped this view for ages.

Major incidents on the train with all the reservations in the wrong coaches (no D so F was the new D and H was the new F) but in a happy karma way the nice family who were in the right were taken away to first class while the (probably perfectly nice) stubborn folk who were in the wrong and refusing to move got to stay in overcrowded shouty hell with the rest of us.

Next off to our lovely friends again for another sociable day before the return to the building site.
