Fog

Everything up to the smallest detail in this industry is written down, calculated and planned . All these parameters are translated in a day rate for humans and equipment. Delay is costly and therefore not very popular. One parameter (with sometimes major impact) we can not foresee or control is the weather. Everybody will accept however that work is impossible during a howling storm. This is called 'Force Majeure' or 'Act of God' and everybody will finally bow his head for it. Much less consideration has another spoil-sport: Fog. Hated and feared by people who are about to go home with a helicopter. Same happened today; our Chief Engineer was about to fly home today after six weeks of hard labor, when all chopper flights were canceled for today.
