Glengariff

Off to Glengariff today on the Beara peninsula. This is site of protected forestry and includes lots of different walks. We did the big meadow walk which is a site of scientific interest as the interior has been allowed to devlop naturally and is unmanaged. It contains mainly rhodedendrons, beech, birch, oak and strawberry trees. We also went to look at Esknamucky waterfall which was quite spectacular after all the rain. The colours here were beautiful. Son number 1 insisted on wading up the river in the communal over sized wellies. We pretended we werent watching with bated breath and had to resist telling him to be careful every 5 minutes!
