It's a kind of Magic...

Don't be fooled by the pretty autumnal colours in this picture, this is something magical, mysterious and marvellous. Perfect for the day before All Hallows.

The newly constructed areal footpath offers a fine view of the Plough roundabout - more usually known as the Magic Roundabout - in Hemel Hempstead.
This afternoon my favourite roundabout was surprisingly free of traffic, but just check out the directions these vehicles are travelling in.

For those of you who have never experienced the excitement of navigating the Magic Roundabout, there are six roads converging on the main roundabout, but at each of the six road junctions there is a mini roundabout, so seven roundabouts altogether. You can travel round the main central roundabout either clockwise, or anticlockwise, as long as you respect the priority from the right rule at each mini roundabout.

Well worth a visit if you're within striking distance.

Opened in 1973, its nickname of The Magic Roundabout, is of course from the wonderfully zany children's programme of the same name.
My favourite character is Ermintrude, dear thing, who is yours?

I got the following as a text today.

For weeks I've been waiting for a celebrity to die so I could text a joke about it.
Now Jim has fixed it for me!
